Mike Blackwell, Senior VP, Entrepreneur Development at TechColumbus will team with Dr. Michael Camp, Executive Director of the Technology Entrepreneurship and Commercialization Institute (TEC) to lead the group in a short presentation followed by one-on-one time between teams and mentors to begin working on team concepts.

Mike Blackwell is a visionary leader, experienced technology executive, and seasoned entrepreneur. He is the former CEO of Groova LLC, a rapid prototyping and web design company which is one of two companies he has founded. He is also known for his roles as an Internet Executive at AOL, CompuServe, and is the former CEO of ShareThis.
He guided the successful creation and launch of ShareThis then redirected the product towards publishers. As a result, ShareThis is now on over 1 million sites. While at AOL he led the Search Technology organization which experienced unprecedented usage and revenue growth fueled by a partnership with Google.
His goal is to help people or companies easily and quickly build products that inspire. He has significant experience working with both large or small companies, in a lean validation way, to dramatically improve their chances for product success.
S. Michael Camp, Ph.D.
Dr. S. Michael Camp is an entrepreneur, innovator, educator, and senior business analyst with more than twenty years of experience in architecting innovative models for the rapid monetization and commercialization of technology, including the design and launch of new ventures.
Michael has served as senior executive, board advisor and strategic consultant for new and growing technology companies in a number of diverse technology verticals. Michael currently is the Founder and Executive Director of the Technology Entrepreneurship and Commercialization (TEC) Institute and the Center for Entrepreneurship at The Ohio State University and as the co-founder and principal of Advanced Research Technologies. As the head and lead strategist for the TEC Institute, Michael is the chief architect of numerous technology evaluation protocols and IP marketing and monetization services. Since 2007, the TEC Institute has trained nearly 400 interdisciplinary graduate students and reviewed the commercial potential of more than 400 scientific discoveries resulting in the formation of 35 technology commercialization companies that have raised more than $30 million in all forms of venture funding. He has designed and managed a number of global-scale research and business analytic initiatives to identify the underlying macro and micro factors driving innovation activity in regional economies and the impact of technology commercialization through new venture formation.
