Congratulations to Branyan Booth, W.L. Berry Scholarship Recipient
Congratulations to Branyan Booth, an evening MBA student, who is the first recipient of the W.L. Berry Scholarship. The scholarship was created and named for Professor Bill Berry upon his retirement. Funding for the endowment, provided by the Center for Operational Excellence and Bill’s many admirers, honors his contributions to Fisher College and the field of operations management.
In addition to graduating from the Fisher MBA program, Booth is a third generation graduate from the Ohio State University Medical School (2004). She comes from a family of physicians. With her experience in medicine and her close family ties in the field, she has firsthand knowledge of the critical need for improvements in the healthcare industry. Shortly upon completing medical school, Booth realized she wanted to merge her interests in medicine and business and began pursing her MBA.
She finds operations and LEAN coursework fun and exciting and is eager to apply her knowledge within a healthcare setting. Her short term goals are to acquire more experience — most likely in a hospital setting — and focus on two goals: improving quality and cutting costs. After initially pursuing medicine and clinical research, Booth has now found her passion in LEAN and process improvement and a profession to pursue that she is confident that she will enjoy.
