Center for Operational Excellence member Nationwide Insurance has been a leader in lean IT for more than half a decade, using lean to massively scale agile development and, more recently, improve the performance of application maintenance teams company-wide. In this session, Tom Paider, AVP IT Build Capability (pictured, on left), and Melanie Kolp, AVP Finance IT (pictured, right), discuss the beginnings of Nationwide's lean journey as well as the new frontiers the company has taken on in the last few years.
Coming Soon: Lean Into Agile Conference - Nov. 7, 2014
Central Ohio Agile Association to host a one-day conference this fall that brings together the best and brightest leaders and thinkers in the lean and agile communities. Lean Into Agile will feature rounds of breakout sessions, some focused on lean, others on agile, allowing attendees to sharpen their skills in either area and explore new tools and behaviors to bring back to their teams.
Keynote speakers include Michael Keller, executive vice president and CIO at Nationwide Insurance, and Mike Orzen, a widely sought-after speaker and consultant who also co-authored the book Lean IT.
A look back: Inside AEP's lean IT transformation, Feb. 27
American Electric Power hosted COE's IT Leadership Network group on Feb. 27 for a broad-based look at how it has been deploying lean throughout the IT organization over the past year-plus. Speakers included Alberto Ruocco, VP and CIO; Venkat Miriyala, lean transformation lead, operations and process transformation; and Mike Rozsa, managing director of IT business applications.
