Fisher partners with ONN in business television news series

ONN and The Ohio State University has launched “Ohio Means Business,” a new half-hour program that will showcase the companies and leaders reshaping Ohio’s business world.  The program debuted at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, March 31.

“Ohio Means Business” provides a comprehensive look at how emerging and established industries are blending innovation, entrepreneurship, education and cutting-edge research to help Ohio excel in the new economy.   “Ohio Means Business” will probe the tough issues facing Ohio’s economic future with experts from across the university providing analysis and insights on research innovations.  It will profile emerging and established businesses leading the way in the new economy and offer an intriguing look at Ohio companies through dynamic interviews with chief executives and on-location features.

“Ohio Means Business” is hosted by veteran ONN Anchor Mike Kallmeyer.  The show will feature insight from Ohio’s leading business experts, including Christine A. Poon, dean of Fisher College of Business and former Fortune 50 executive.

“Ohio Means Business” airs Wednesdays at 7:30 p.m., Sundays at 10:30 a.m. and 7:30 p.m. and Mondays at 12:30 p.m., with new episodes every two weeks. 

The premiere episode of “Ohio Means Business” examines the development of advanced and renewable energy and how this fast-growing industry is changing Ohio’s business landscape.  The show focuses specifically on solar and wind energy markets and companies in Ohio.

“Never before have the connections between Ohio State and our business partners been so robust,” said University President E. Gordon Gee.  “Together, we are collaborating to build Ohio’s new knowledge economy and I am glad our efforts are being featured through this new venture.”

“As Ohio’s Channel, we are in the business of informing and educating the public and feel that it’s important to educate viewers about how Ohio’s businesses are responding in times of change and uncertainty,” said ONN President and General Manager Tom Griesdorn.  “We are fortunate to partner with such high level institutions as The Ohio State University and OSU’s Fisher College of Business to provide expert insight as to how current business operations are affecting the local economic conditions.”
