Jen Knox Shanahan, MFA

Jen Knox Shanahan is the academic programs manager at the Fisher Leadership Initiative. Prior to joining the Leadership Initiative team, she directed the Writers-in-Communities outreach program, which comprised of a team of instructors who taught college readiness, creativity, and self-empowerment through intensive writing workshops in prisons, homeless shelters, community centers, and schools across San Antonio, Texas. An educator, writer, and community advocate, Jen’s exploratory writing can be found in The Chicago Tribune, The Saturday Evening Post, and NPR Online. Jen is the current Women in Business (WIB) Advisor and also manages the Dean’s Leadership Academy.
