MAcc#GoBucksWashington D.C. and Beyond!
I recently was able to take a trip to Washington D.C. with some of my MAcc colleagues, where I was introduced to many new people and policies for the first time. This experience was a week-long experience that pulled back the curtain on how accounting connects with the world of government, regulation, and public affairs. 3607/blogs/gradlife/2025/03/26/washington-d.c.-and-beyond
Professional Development, SMF#ProfessionalDevelopment, #BuildingProfessionalSkills, #PracticalApplication, #FinancePractical application of knowledge is key in the professional development of SMF students. In the blog I highlight how the program balances theoretical learning with real-world experience. Projects such as the Capstone Project, Project Financing, and real client experiences allow the application of fundamental financial analysis, testing our ability to evaluate companies’ strategies, capital structure, financial results, and stock prices. The only way to know if you are ready is by exposing yourself to these real-world challenges.

Being in the MAcc program offers so many positive incentives for your future. It’s the launchpad into a career you’ve worked hard to build, filled with opportunities that extend far beyond the walls of Fisher. But here’s the truth no one can teach you in a classroom: it’s only what you put into it. No degree, no internship, no job offer can define your success unless you’re the one driving it forward.3605/blogs/gradlife/2025/03/03/3-steps-building-your-own-path
MHRMpresentationBefore starting my Master of Human Resource Management journey at Fisher, I had already built a solid foundation in public speaking and performing. I've been acting since I was ten years old, and in large part due to this hobby and passion, I was comfortable speaking in front of an audience, using vocal inflection and projection, and maintaining "stage presence." Despite this background, I am incredibly grateful that my two case competition experiences I have been a part of during grad school have taken these skills to a new level.3604/blogs/gradlife/2025/03/01/4-ways-mhrm-case-competitions-have-made-me-a-better-presenter
SMFSMF, #QuantitativeSkills, #QualitativeSkills, #ProfessionalDevelopmentI’m frequently asked whether Fisher’s Specialized Master in Finance program is a quantitative or qualitative skill-based program. What should you expect? What should you seek? While quantitative expertise in data analysis, financial modeling, and risk management is crucial, qualitative skills like leadership, communication, and emotional intelligence are just as important for navigating complex business decisions. I hope my experience and perspectives can help you improve yours.

MHRM#GraduateAssistantLifeWhen I first accepted my graduate assistantship position at Fisher, I was excited at the opportunity to support the program that I was about to embark on myself. At the time, I was not sure what exactly my position would entail, and how I would impact the experiences of prospective students, something I had been myself only a year prior.3601/blogs/gradlife/2025/01/30/behind-scenes-my-life-a-graduate-assistant
MAcc#TravelLessons, #GlobalPerspective, #IrelandAdventures, #SoloTravel, #GoBucksAs a graduate student in Ohio State’s MAcc program, I knew my year would be filled with technical accounting concepts, networking opportunities, and countless group projects. But what I didn’t anticipate was how a personal excursion to Ireland—originally meant to be a short getaway—would become one of the most transformative experiences of my time in the program. From navigating a snowstorm that forced me to rethink my travel plans to gaining new perspectives on adaptability, culture, and career aspirations, my trip to Ireland offered unexpected lessons that extended far beyond the classroom.
