During my four years of undergraduate and 1.5 years of graduate school here at Fisher, I have become better, faster, and stronger. How do we tie it all together? As a Fisher MBA student, I began my journey alongside experienced and accomplished classmates from all walks of life. Our cohort includes PhDs in engineering, successful entrepreneurs, and emerging leaders from a variety of industries across the world. This dynamic learning environment tests our abilities to devise impactful solutions for both traditional and newly emerging business challenges.
As I stood in the empty apartment, memories flooded my mind, evoking a bittersweet mix of emotions about leaving behind the life my family and I had built. After nearly two years of preparation, I faced the daunting leap into the unknown, driven by a deeper purpose: to inspire my daughters to pursue their dreams fearlessly. With my family’s unwavering support, I closed the door behind me, ready to embrace the uncertainties ahead and discover what the future holds.

As my graduation in May approaches, I’m amazed at how much Fisher’s two-semester MAcc program at The Ohio State University has aided my job search. In just a few months, I’ve gained valuable professional connections, explored potential employers, and received incredible guidance from faculty and alums—all of which have set me up for success.

Recently, I attended a Cleveland Guardians playoff game with my classmates from the MAcc program, and it reminded me of the importance of balancing work and play in grad school.
In this post, I share five key takeaways from the game, highlighting how playoff energy mirrors the drive for success in our studies, the value of bonding beyond the classroom, and how casual experiences like attending a game help build genuine professional connections. I also discuss the importance of balancing hard work with moments of fun to avoid burnout and how teamwork and leadership show up both on and off the field.

As summer’s warmth fades and a crisp breeze begins to sweep through the air, Columbus is bathed in the golden light of autumn. The trees blush with brilliant reds, oranges, and yellows, transforming the city’s streets and parks into vibrant, living art. There's something magical about fall—the way the earth seems to slow down, the quiet crunch of leaves underfoot, and the sweet, comforting scent of apple cider and pumpkin spice in the air. It’s a season that invites us to pause, reflect, and celebrate the harvest and beauty all around us.
