Hi everyone! After another month at the graduate level in the Fisher College of Business, I wanted to take a moment to talk about some of the aspects that the MAcc program provides beyond the academics. 

December has arrived, and I´m approaching halfway on my SMF journey! As I've shared in my previous posts, this semester has been truly incredible. From networking with top alumni currently working at firms like JP Morgan, Goldman Sachs, EY, etc., to being selected as part of the SMF Student Council, to traveling to Las Vegas to represent Fisher College of Business at Prospanica, the largest conference for Latino professionals in the USA! Hi! As we near the end of the first session, I reflect on the balance between academic challenges and leisure activities. I describe our exciting paintball day, where 20 of us SMF students bonded over intense battles. Thanks to a friend's initiative, we also enjoyed a culinary adventure, trying delicious Indian dishes in Columbus. Our weekend wouldn't be complete without cheering for The Ohio State football team, and we celebrated a thrilling victory. Stay tuned for future blog posts about Columbus exploration, football game experiences, job-seeking, and more.

Coming back to Ohio State, there are new challenges and hurdles ahead, but I couldn't be more excited to get back to work and enjoy everything Ohio State has to offer!

Hey there, future Fisher College of Business Specialized Master in Finance (SMF) students! I'm Stefano Mejia, hailing from Lima, Peru, and I'm here to take you on a thrilling ride through my life as an international student in the SMF program at Fisher. So, buckle up and get ready for an exciting journey full of adventures, tips, and insider insights!

 

As a Combined BSBA/MAcc student, this is my fourth year at Ohio State. During that time, I attended multiple football games a year but never once attended a basketball game. As February came to an end and March Madness loomed ahead, I knew I needed to attend a game soon if I ever wanted to participate in the OSU basketball tradition while a student. Ohio State's earlier game against Iowa was canceled due to COVID, so general admission student tickets were available to purchase online for only $10. I got a ticket, rounded up some friends, and made my way to the Schottenstein Center.

As most probably know Ohio State is a BIG BIG football school. So you may be wondering what we do with our weekends when winter hits and football comes to an end. Thankfully, Columbus still has so much to offer in terms of fun weekend activities and events. I thought I would share with you some of the fun things I have done and will be doing this winter in Columbus.

As a student who grew up in a warmer climate, I experienced a learning curve living in the colder Ohio winters. Here are some of my takeaways!
