This blog is the second part of a blog I wrote two months ago describing all the electives I chose to take in the first session of the spring semester. During the spring semester of the Master of Accounting program, students take almost all electives so there is a lot of flexibility in their coursework. In this blog, I will explain the four classes I am taking this session and why I chose to take them.
Ethical Challenges in Accounting and Business
I have always enjoyed conversations about ethics so when I saw this course on the course offerings I knew I wanted to take it.

As a Combined BSBA/MAcc student, this is my fourth year at Ohio State. During that time, I attended multiple football games a year but never once attended a basketball game. As February came to an end and March Madness loomed ahead, I knew I needed to attend a game soon if I ever wanted to participate in the OSU basketball tradition while a student. Ohio State's earlier game against Iowa was canceled due to COVID, so general admission student tickets were available to purchase online for only $10.

One of the most exciting parts of the Master of Accounting (MAcc) program is all the elective options for the second semester. There is only one 2.5 credit hour class required as part of the general program during the semester, with the rest being up to each student's choice. In this blog post, I will walk through the elective choices I made for the first session of classes. Keep an eye out for another blog post during the second session about those classes.
Tax 2
When reviewing the course offerings for the spring semester, it was apparent that I was going to take Tax 2.

During the Master of Accounting program, you spend most of your time in Gerlach Hall. Most days you might only have a small break between class, work, and group projects to grab food so I am going to walk you through some of my favorite places to grab food on and near campus.
KSA Cafe
KSA is an on-campus coffee shop in the Knowlton School of Architecture. It’s my favorite place to stop by and grab a coffee between classes or a bagel sandwich for breakfast in the morning.

If you have been following along with my blog posts than you’ll know that I am a combined BSBA/MAcc student, meaning I attended Fisher as an undergrad for my first three years of college and am now taking my upper level accounting courses in the graduate program to get both degrees at the same time. This means that I have experienced Fisher as both an undergraduate and graduate student.
Overall, the experience in Fisher as a graduate student is pretty different from undergrad.
