3 Ways I'm Carrying the Championship Feeling Into a New Year

Carrying the Championship Feeling Into a New Year

There’s nothing quite like the energy of a national championship win. This month, Ohio State brought home the College Football Playoff (CFP) National Championship, and the excitement is still buzzing around campus. Watching the Buckeyes dominate on the field was more than just a thrilling moment—it was a reminder of what hard work, resilience, and teamwork can achieve.

As I enter my final semester in the Fisher MAcc program, I find myself inspired by that same championship mentality. While my path looks different from the Buckeyes on the field, the core values that led them to victory—dedication, discipline, and a relentless drive for success—are just as relevant in the classroom and beyond.

Bringing the Championship Mindset Into the MAcc Program

Just like a championship-winning team, the Fisher MAcc program pushes students to perform at their best. From the first day, it was clear that this program is fast-paced and demanding, requiring hard work, adaptability, and teamwork to succeed.

Group projects, case studies, and technical coursework require the same skills seen on the football field—collaboration, strategy, and resilience. There have been times when deadlines felt overwhelming or when group work required navigating different perspectives. Still, just like a football team, success comes from working together and pushing through challenges.

The Buckeyes didn’t win the championship overnight—it took months of preparation, setbacks, and adjustments. In the same way, this semester is about staying focused, finishing strong, and making the most of the opportunities ahead.

Preparing for the Next Chapter: Taking the Championship Mentality Into My Career

A championship team doesn’t stop after winning a title—they immediately start preparing for the next season. Similarly, while I’m excited to be in my final semester, I know that this is just the beginning of my next chapter—starting my career.

The Fisher MAcc program has equipped me with the tools I need to succeed beyond graduation—technical knowledge and the ability to problem-solve, collaborate, and adapt to new challenges. These past few months have reinforced that success isn’t just about what you know—it’s about how you apply that knowledge, work with others, and keep pushing forward even when things get tough.

As I transition into my career, I want to carry this championship mindset with me. I will continue to approach new challenges with confidence and build strong relationships with my colleagues like with my classmates – thereby continuing to strive for excellence in everything I do.

Overcoming Challenges Like a Champion

No championship run is without obstacles. The Buckeyes faced tough competition, injuries, and setbacks, but they never lost sight of their goal. That perseverance is something I’ve seen reflected in my own experience in the MAcc program.

Balancing coursework, group projects, and personal responsibilities hasn’t always been easy. There were moments when deadlines stacked up or when a challenging case study felt overwhelming. But just like a championship team, I’ve learned that resilience and a strong support system make all the difference.

Some of my best learning experiences have come from working through challenges with my classmates—whether it was tackling a tough assignment, preparing for a presentation, or simply leaning on each other for support. The relationships I’ve built in this program have made the experience that much more rewarding, just as a team’s bond is essential to their success on the field.

Finishing Strong and Looking Ahead

Winning a championship isn’t just about one game—it’s about everything that led up to that moment and everything that comes next. As I approach graduation, I want to finish this semester with that same drive, focus, and appreciation for the journey.

The Fisher MAcc program has given me an incredible foundation, and now it’s time to carry that momentum into my career. I want to take what I’ve learned here—the teamwork, the problem-solving, the resilience—and apply it to whatever challenges come next.

So, as I wrap up my time at Ohio State, I’m embracing the championship feeling—not just for this semester but for the years ahead. The season isn’t over yet—it’s time to finish strong, take this championship mindset into my career, and represent Ohio State wherever I go. Go Bucks!
