Fisher’s Experiential Learning in Action – From Nestlé Insights to Alumni Networking in Cleveland

At Fisher College of Business, the emphasis on real-world learning is a core part of our MBA experience. Recently, our Class of 2026 had the unique opportunity to participate in a Career Academy excursion to the Nestlé facility, where we delved into hands-on activities that brought Fisher’s "learning beyond the classroom" philosophy to life. The day featured Mini-Case Presentations, a Culinary Hour with Nestlé’s chefs at their Culinary Innovation Center, and enlightening guest lectures and info sessions with Nestlé executives. These experiences provided us with a direct line of sight into the company’s strategic initiatives, from sustainability efforts to customer-centric innovations, offering unparalleled insights into how a global leader like Nestlé operates.

The Nestlé visit was just one part of Fisher’s approach to immersive education. The trip started when we attended an Alumni Mixer in Cleveland, where we connected with Fisher graduates now excelling in a variety of industries. These one-on-one interactions provided valuable perspectives on career growth and navigating industry challenges. The Alumni Mixer emphasized the strength of the Fisher network, as we gained advice and insights from those who once walked the same path and are now making their mark in the business world.

Through corporate site visits, executive-led sessions, and networking opportunities like the Alumni Mixer, Fisher enhances our understanding of industry dynamics, sharpens our problem-solving skills, and challenges us to think strategically. By integrating these immersive experiences into the MBA curriculum, Fisher is equipping us to make a real impact in our careers and empowering us to lead with agility and insight in an ever-evolving business landscape.
