Now that we are officially finished with the core first-session classes, us SMF students have the chance to begin taking elective courses. This is the first time that we can begin to specialize in one of the four tracks: Corporate Finance, Investment Management, Risk Management, or Real Estate.

To those who are not familiar with THE Ohio State University, college football here is treated almost like a religion. It is deeply ingrained in the hearts of Ohioans. So, for someone who has lived in Ohio for most of my life, and who grew up a Buckeye fan, it probably seems shocking that I had never been to a game before. My first game was the season opener against the #5 team in the country. This game has been talked about by sports commentators for months and this would set the tone for the rest of the season as the Buckeyes chase the elusive National Championship.

Hi everyone! My name is Claire Hinkle, and I am just now starting my fourth week in the SMF Program at Fisher. In the first three weeks, I have taken a final, met with alumni, had several case discussions, completed a workshop with our Career Management Counselor, and am now beginning to ramp things up in the First Session Core Classes. So, while the undergraduate students have just finished syllabus week, we in the SMF program already feel at home here at Fisher. However, I realize that just a few weeks ago I was nervous to start the SMF program.
