When I signed up for the MHRM case competition, I saw it as an opportunity to step outside the classroom and test what I had been learning in a real-world context. What I did not fully anticipate was how immersive the experience would feel like. Working in teams, we were challenged to understand the problem, develop a strategy, and present a solution within a limited timeframe. Here are three key lessons I took away from the experience:1. Time management and presentation matter just as much as ideasReal-world problem-solving rarely gives you the luxury of time.

One of the reasons I chose the Fisher College of Business for my Master’s in Human Resource Management was its strong alumni network and sense of community. From the very beginning of my journey, I have experienced how intentionally meaningful connections with peers, professors, and alumni are cultivated.Recently, I attended the Graduate Student Networking Night organized by the Office of Career Management, and it was a powerful reminder of that commitment to community.

I started my spring semester with a resolve to embrace the holistic graduate experience. I wanted to step outside my routine, expose myself to new experiences, and actively participate in the social and cultural events on campus. This blog is a testament to pushing myself to try something new. Recently, I attended an Instructional Kitchen session hosted at the Ohio Union, where students get the opportunity to learn how to cook a full meal under the guidance of the Union’s professional chef, Chef Ben.

This blog is a reflection on my experience attending a Negotiations lecture during Fisher College of Business’s Preview Day. As a graduate assistant, I volunteered at the event to interact with prospective students and support them as they explored their graduate school options. I was especially excited to meet and engage with students interested in Fisher’s Master of Human Resource Management program. What I did not expect was that, along with the visiting students, I would get to sit in on a sample lecture on Negotiations.

I recently finished my mid-terms for the first semester of my MHRM program, and I would like to share an experience that stood out to me and turned out to be one of the most engaging assessments so far. My professor for the Future of HR class, replaced our usual written mid semester exam with a debate on contemporary HR topics. Each group was assigned a unique topic to debate. My teams topic was the four-day work week, a topic that’s sparked endless discussion in the post-COVID world about flexibility and productivity. My partner and I were tasked to argue against it.
