Final Thoughts
The semester is quickly coming to a close. I cannot believe that I am about to graduate from the Fisher MAcc program already. I decided to take some time to reflect on some of the highlights from the last year and what makes this program so great. Here are a few of my final thoughts on the year and MAcc program.
- The Fisher faculty is exceptional. This year I was truly challenged to think critically and from a different perspective. I think one of the major strengths of this program is the professors. There were times where I felt very overwhelmed, but the professors were always willing to go the extra mile to help and encouraged us to do more than we thought we could.
- The flexible curriculum is clutch. All of the students I have spoken with always comment on this aspect. It allows us to explore other topics like supply chain or project management, or even learn negotiation skills. For me in particular, I got to focus on all areas of accounting and get a good foundation to help with the CPA.
- Take advantage of the career services modules. One thing I really focused on before starting the program was completing the career services modules. I found this to be a huge advantage going into recruiting season. Putting the work in beforehand really helped me feel prepared and helped set me apart from others. It also helped me explore career options outside of audit and tax. The modules are super beneficial and I highly recommend taking full advantage of them!
- The Pre-MAcc seminar is a must for any non-accounting majors. I cannot stress enough how valuable the Pre-MAcc seminar was for me coming into this program. It helped prepare me and help me feel confident going into the year. It is a unique offering and is something I highly recommend for anyone who is coming into the Fisher MAcc without an accounting background.
- The Buckeye community is strong!! Although we may not have had much time on campus, I could feel the Buckeye pride every step of the way. I will truly cherish my time as a buckeye and will be rooting for them for life!
I am so grateful for my experience at Fisher. I have developed skills that will prepare me for my career and built relationships that will last for a lifetime!
Signing off for the final time.
