An expert in strategy and analytics who has been at the forefront of retail revolution throughout her career, Barclay joined Asset Strategies Group (ASG) in 2003 to lead their strategy team and became President of the firm in 2016. In 2020, she was named president of ASG and Chute Gerdeman after the successful acquisition of Chute by ASG. For Barclay, retail is about connection, which drives her approach with clients and partners as she presents a broader perspective of the potential of retail. She understands the nuanced balance necessary for passionate, consumer-centric strategy informed by accurate data analytics and enhanced by a commitment to community, sustainability, and innovation. It’s through this vision that Barclay so successfully partners with global retailers and investors to enable effective decision-making and identify strategic business opportunities that contribute to long-term success and profitability. As president of ASG-Chute Gerdeman, Carrie is revolutionizing the way retailers think about real estate and retail design – from location to valuation to strategic positioning to redefining the flagship. She has worked with a diverse portfolio, including Ralph Lauren, vineyard vines, purple, Tonal, Lovesac, and American Eagle. She received an MBA with distinction from Franklin University and has a BS in Business from Central Missouri State University. Barclay is a member of ICSC, American Marketing Association, and Market Research Exchange and serves as an Advisory Board Member for CBUS Retail, a non-profit dedicated to advancing retail. Barclay was recognized by Thinkers360 as one of the Top Women in B2B Thought Leaders for 2020 and 2021. Prior to joining ASG, Carrie held a wide range of roles at L Brands, including the development of a real estate technology platform which was later commercialized by Geo-Vue as its flagship product. As Director of Research and Planning at L Brands she directed divisional real estate strategy for a dozen brands, including Victoria's Secret, Bath & Body Works, The Limited, and Express.
