Exploring Columbus –Things to do from a Double Buckeye
I have lived in Columbus, OH all through undergrad as an OSU student, and will be living here for the next year and a half in graduate school. Over the years, I have gotten to explore all Columbus has to offer. Here are a few of my favorite places and things to do!
The Short North Arts District
The Short North is an urban neighborhood that provides numerous food, nightlife, and shopping options! Whether you want to shop for unique Turkish lamps from Karavan: Treasures from Turkey or grab a bite to eat with loved ones, the Short North offers a great combination of urban life and a community feel. My personal favorite restaurants are Forno (modern American and Italian) and El Segundo (Mexican-American fusion), and my favorite shop is Penn & Beech Candle Co., where you can make your own custom candle!
German Village
The German Village is a beautiful historic village here in Columbus. Grab a coffee at Stauf's Coffee Roasters, explore the 32 rooms of the Book Loft to find a new book to read, or try Lindey's for upscale fine dining. From the cobblestone roads to the stunning architecture, German Village does not disappoint. During the warm weather months, there is also a German Village Flea Market that features local businesses to support!
Scioto Mile
Explore the Scioto Mile area to get a taste of both nature and the city! The Scioto Mile offers numerous parks and trails for activity and is located right near Columbus' cultural center. Whether you want to go on bike-ride, run, or just lay out for a scenic picnic with friends, the Scioto Mile is worth checking out.
