Background

Jeff Rodek joined the faculty of The Ohio State University in 2007 as a part time senior lecturer in the Fisher College of Business. Prior to Hyperion’s sale to Oracle in April, 2007, Jeff was the Executive Chairman of the Board of Hyperion Solutions, Inc., the global leader in Business Performance Management software and a company named in 2004 as a Fortune’s 100 Best Companies to Work For and listed on the Forbes 200 Best Small Companies.

Rodek served as Chairman and CEO of Hyperion from October 1999 to July 2004. After the sale of Hyperion to Oracle in 2007, Rodek was a part time partner for several years with the private equity firm, Accretive LLC.

Prior to Hyperion, Rodek served as President and COO of Ingram Micro, the world’s largest wholesale provider of technology solutions, products and services. Before that, Rodek spent 16 years at FedEx, beginning in Operations Research and rising to the position of Senior Vice President, Americas.

Rodek serves on the boards of FactGem and PTS, where he serves as Chairman, and is on the Advisory Board for Resource Ammirati,  Rodek is a member of Ohio Tech Angels and serves on the Board of Trustees for the Civil War Trust, based in Washington, DC.

Focus on the concept of ethical leadership with emphasis on both oral and written communication skills for the business environment.   • BUSMHR 7222 - Advanced Topics in Leadership: Building Your Leadership Legacy

    Development of a personal leadership legacy designed to achieve career goals and improve leadership skills. Prereq: Enrollment in MBA, WPMBA, MHRM, or MAcc program, or permission of instructor. Not open to students with credit for 842.

  • BUSMHR 7224 - Organizational Turnarounds

    Case studies of organizational turnarounds. Prereq: Enrollment in MBA, WPMBA, MHRM, or MAcc program; or permission of instructor. Not open to students with credit for 843.

  • BUSMHR 7225 - Crisis Leadership

    Studies of leaders and organizations facing crises to understand how to be successful in handling such challenges. Prereq: Enrollment in MBA, WPMBA, MLHR, or MAcc program; or permission of instructor. Not open to students with credit for 843.

  • BUSMHR 7413 - Advanced Strategic Analysis

    Advanced strategic analysis provides students with a strategic perspective on management in complex, knowledge-intensive, and dynamic environments. The course introduces new tools and frameworks to consider how to evaluate highly uncertain investment proposals and whether and how to capture value from intangible, knowledge-based assets. Prereq: 7412, or MBA 6291, or 6293; and enrollment in MBA or WPMBA; or permission of instructor. Not open to students with credit for 838.

  • BUSMHR 7800 - Advanced Topics in Management and Human Resources for EMBA

    Advanced Topics in Management and HR for students in the Executive MBA Program. Prereq: Enrollment in EMBA program. Repeatable to a maximum of 15 cr hrs or 7 completions.

  • BUSMHR 7412 - Competitive Analysis

    Tools to identify, parse, and analyze the economic and market data necessary to complete a comprehensive strategic analysis of business competition. Application of major steps in industry analysis, competitive positioning, capability analysis, competitor analysis, and some private equity valuation. Prereq: Enrollment in MBA or WPMBA program, or permission of instructor. Not open to students with credit for 838.
