The inaugural First@Fisher summer program aims to prepare and educate first-generation college students about the college search process and introduce attendees to a variety of top topics within business at The Ohio State University and Fisher College of Business.

This event is an opportunity for first-generation college students around the state of Ohio to interact with current Fisher students, alumni, faculty, business leaders, recruiters, and other motivated students across the state.

  • Participate in workshops with top Fisher College of Business faculty and company recruiters
  • Review financial aid information, involvement opportunities, and review college lingo to help navigate the college process
  • Develop professional development and first-impression skills through etiquette lunch
  • Learn about the college application process and Ohio State University
  • Navigate financial aid information and college lingo used during the college application process

Event Details

This year we will be hosting on the Fisher College of Business campus:  

  • Saturday, July 14, 2018 from 8:30am-4:00pm

Application Criteria

The following students are encouraged to apply: 

  • First-generation college student (neither parents graduated from a 4-year institution with a Bachelor’s degree)
  • Rising high school seniors with a minimum 3.0 GPA
  • Ohio resident

Funding and Travel

The event is funded by the Fisher College of Business. Participants only need to cover transportation to and from the event and personal expenses. Breakfast and lunch will be provided.
