Who should apply for a Fisher summer enrichment program? 

If you’re a talented Ohio high school student seeking hands-on experience with business education, please explore our high school programs and find a program that fits for you! Programs are selective and only offered once a year. Please see specific programs for details.

What does a Fisher summer enrichment program entail? 

Each program is different! Students can apply for all three options, please see program descriptions for more details and program length. In general, each summer program focuses on building community, teaching students important skills neccessary to be a successful college applicant, and allows students to learn more about The Ohio State University and Fisher College of Business through a hands-on experience while on campus.

  • Accounting Careers Awareness Program (ACAP)

    Who: Ohio underrepresented minority students who are interested in exploring careers in accounting and business. 

    When: Sunday June 9 to Friday, June 14, 2019

    Where: The Ohio State University, Fisher College of Business

    What: ACAP-OHIO is an innovative center development program designed specifically for minority high school students. This fully-supervised, week long summer residency program was developed to give minority students an opportunity to explore careers in accounting and business. 

    During their stay on campus, students attend a variety of business and college preparatory workshops and are introduced to topics such as accounting, finance, economics, computer technology, and business management.

    Other important info: This event is sponsored by  the National Association of Black Accountants (NABA), and the Ohio Society of CPAs (OSCPA) in conjunction with the Fisher College of Business.

  • Business Bootcamp

    Who: Ohio high school juniors and seniors may apply. Preference will be given to first-generation* college students and underrepresented minority students.

    When: Saturday, July 20th, 2019 from 8:30am-4:00pm

    Where: The Ohio State University, Fisher College of Business

    What: Business Bootcamp is an opportunity for students to gain the information and tools necessary to be a successful college applicant. Join other students from the state of Ohio to interact with current Fisher students, alumni, faculty, business leaders, recruiters, and other motivated students across the state to start building your collegiate toolkit.

    • Participate in workshops with top Fisher College of Business faculty and company recruiters
    • Review financial aid information, involvement opportunities, and review college lingo to help navigate the college process
    • Develop professional development and first-impression skills through etiquette lunch
    • Learn about the college application process and Ohio State University
    • Navigate financial aid information and college lingo used during the college application process

  • Future Women in Business Summit

    Who: All students may apply. Preference will be given to young women living in Ohio, rising high school seniors with a miniumum 3.3 GPA, first-generation college students, and/or underrepresented minority students. 

    When: Saturday, June 22, 2019 or Friday, June 28, 2019 from 8:30am-4:00pm

    Where: The Ohio State University, Fisher College of Business

    What: The third annual Mary Helen Wolfe Chandler Future Women in Business Summit, aims to prepare and educate young women about the world of business and introduce attendees to a variety of topics within business while experiencing Ohio State University and Fisher College of Business.

    • Interact with successful Fisher alumni and current students
    • Participate in workshops with top Fisher College of Business faculty and company recruiters
    • Develop professional development and first-impression skills through etiquette lunch
    • Connect with like-minded women interested in business
    • Learn about the college application process and Ohio State University

  • Fisher F.I.R.S.T. (Admitted students only)

    Who: Applicants must be admitted into the Fisher College of Business at the Ohio State University!  Preference will be given to incoming first-year, under-represented minority and first-generation students.

    When: Sunday, August 11th through Friday, August 16th, 2019

    Where: The Ohio State University, Fisher College of Business

    What: Focusing on Inclusion and Readiness for a Successful Transition or "Fisher F.I.R.S.T" allows participants to engage with a diverse student community, develop stronger relationships with the campus community and emerge as leaders on campus and beyond. The program begins with an early arrival aspect for incoming first year participants, and continues throughout the student's college journey.

    Program benefits include: 

    • Participate in a year-long program with monthly meetings and intentional leadership activities.
    • Support from a dedicated Program Manager specifically for Fisher F.I.R.S.T. students. 
    • Immediate sense of belonging and connection within Fisher College of Business. 
    • Demonstrate less anxiety about their college readiness and ability to succeed in their intended specialization.

    • Discover career interests through exposure to various industries through company site visits, and networking with alumni.

    • Mentoring from upperclassmen and opportunity to pay it forward by becoming mentor.

    • Connect with students and alumni of diverse backgrounds and broaden your cultural perspective.
