Background

Dr. Sodero's research and teaching interests in Supply Chain Management and Logistics are at the intersection of Economics, Marketing, and Information Systems. They include information technology management, logistics management, and innovation management. His research is forthcoming or has been published in the Journal of Operations Management, Journal of Business Logistics, Decision Sciences Journal, International Journal of Physical Distribution and Logistics Management, and Supply Chain Management Review. His study that uses consumer sentiments conveyed via online forums to improve demand planning for flash sales has been selected as part of the "Research for the Real World" series in a special issue of Supply Chain Quarterly.

Dr. Sodero's courses are project- and case-based. He is an Associate Editor at the Journal of Operations Management and the Decision Sciences Journal. He is a member of the Editorial Review Board at the Journal of Supply Chain Management and the Journal of Business Logistics.

Dr. Sodero was the founder and leader of Ad Hoc Informática, a successful IT business in Brazil. Ad Hoc provided software and consulting services for logistics providers, including Peugeot-Citroën's GEFCO, LTL carrier Patrus Transportes, FTL carrier Expresso Nepomuceno, and 4PL Metropolitan Logística. Ad Hoc is now a division of Benner Sistemas, a leading ERP and BPO provider in Brazil.

BUSML 4386 - Logistics Technology - Fundamentals
Focus on the operational use of logistics software technologies such as transportation management systems, warehouse management systems, and inventory management systems. Course taught in a lab environment with tools for lectures, exercises and HW. Prereq: 3380, and AcctMIS 2200 and 2300, and BusOBA 2320 and 2321; and BusMHR 2291 or 2292.
BUSML 8381 - Research Seminar in Supply Chain Management
Focuses on research issues in supply chain management. Prereq: 7380 (880) and 7383 (885). Repeatable to a maximum of 9 cr hrs.
BUSOBA 7392 - Contemporary Issues In Supply Chain Management
This course will expose students to cutting-edge topics in supply chain, taught by research-active faculty. There will be six class sessions. Each session will include approximately 1.5-2 hours of asynchronous content and approximately 1.5-2 hours of synchronous content. Each session will cover a topic.
BUSML 4381 - Logistics Execution I
Issues and strategies in transportation and warehouse management and policy, including modes of transportation, capacity management and carrier management. Emphasis also on warehouse productivity and operations. Prereq: 3380, and AcctMIS 2200, 2300, and BusOBA 2320, 2321; and BusMHR 2291 or 2292. Not open to students with credit for 5381.
