About the Ceremony and Reception

Fisher College hosts a special MAcc Pre-Commencement Ceremony to recognize MAcc students for their accomplishments and successes. The event begins with a light reception at 4:30pm for graduates and their guests immediately followed by a ceremony beginning at 5:30pm and ending by 7pm.

  • Participation in the event does not equate to satisfying degree requirements and graduating.
  • The ceremony celebrates Master of Accounting students only.
  • The ceremony itself consists of student and faculty award presentations.
  • Students will not receive a diploma at this ceremony; that occurs at the separate formal OSU Commencement ceremony on Sunday, May 7th. Details about OSU Commencement are at the bottom of this page.
  • MAcc Students

There are no tickets for this event. Your RSVP will simply reserve a seat for yourself and your guests. You may follow the link in the email invitation or RSVP below for the total number of guests who you plan to bring to the event.

    RSVP NOW

While there is no limit to the number of guests you may bring, typically students bring anywhere from 4 to 6 people. If you plan to invite more than 6 guests please email Kristina Toliver (toliver.22@osu.edu) so we can plan accordingly for seating.

    PHOTOS FOR PRE-COMMENCEMENT SLIDESHOW

Please send pictures from your time at Fisher showcasing you and your classmates to Susan Vogelgesang (vogelgesang.13@osu.edu). There will be families in the audience, please ensure the pictures are tasteful.

    CEREMONY AWARD NOMINATIONS

    • Student Reflections Speech Nomination: You may nominate one of your MAcc peers to have the prestigious honor to deliver a student reflections speech during the ceremony. This should be someone who has distinguished themselves through scholarship, leadership, and service in the program.
    • Faculty Award Nominations: Each year an accounting professor is selected as the recipient of the Ernst & Young Award for Excellence in Teaching, and announced at the MAcc Spring Pre-Commencement Ceremony. The MAcc program committee seeks to include student input as a very important and critical part of the award selection. The nominees are selected by the quality of the nominating statements, not by the quantity of the votes.
    • An email with the voting link was sent on March 10th. Please cast your vote before Friday, April 7th.
