Our Leadership Foundations experience provides students the opportunity to understand themselves and their leadership abilities, inside and outside the classroom.

By participating in Leadership Foundations, students will gain an understanding of Fisher's Leadership model and gain exposure to the values of principled leadership, self-awareness, team effectiveness, and self-development activities.

  • Undergrad

    All Fisher undergraduate students engage in a Leadership Foundations experience that is integrated into their core, honors cohort, industry immersions, or select learning communities.

    Throughout their Foundations experience students will:

    • Be introduced to our model and framework for leadership, P-E-T-A-L
    • Participate in a comprehensive assessment and receive a personalized development report based on the P-E-T-A-L framework
    • Participate in a guided workshop to create a Personal Development Plan based on their assessment results
    • Discuss and understand the life and principled leadership values of Max. M. Fisher
    • Attend signature skill-building leadership development workshops
  • Graduate

    Fisher Graduate students engage in a Leadership Foundations experience, inside and outside the classroom, designed to:

    • Introduce a model and framework for leadership, P-E-T-A-L
    • Participate in a comprehensive assessment and receive a personalized development report based on the P-E-T-A-L framework
    • Begin Leadership Core coursework 
    • Understand the values of Principled Leadership
    • Develop team leader and team member effectiveness
    • Integrate ethics and sound decision-making in all aspects of business
