The Journal was founded in 1989 by Professor Martin Christopher of the Cranfield School of Management, UK, and Professor Douglas Lambert - LINK of The Ohio State University USA, in response to the tremendous growth of interest in logistics and supply chain management. Dr. Lambert and Dr. Christopher served as co-editors 1989 - 2007.
