Friday, December 17 marks the Fisher PhD application deadline for PhD applicants for Autumn 2011.
Here is what you can expect in terms of the admissions process over the next several weeks:
- Remember that once you submit your application, the processing office has to match up your application form with any supplemental materials you may have sent previously or have yet to send.
- Once we have identified any materials that belong with your application, we will update your checklist on your online application so you can check to see what is still missing. These checklist updates are NOT made in “real time.” Please wait at least five business days to check the online tracking system.
- Once you have a complete application, your file will be put into review. Review can take anywhere from 3 weeks to 3 months. Each PhD program has a very different process with respect to file review. Past experience indicates that applications that are complete by the stated deadline should have an admission decision on them by March 1 – sometimes sooner, sometimes later.
- If your application is submitted and/or completed after December 17, the admissions committee will review it on space available/rolling basis. As the application processing office receives notification from the programs that they have stopped accepting applications for autumn 2011, we will post that information on this blog.
Please keep in mind that:
In addition to weekends, the Graduate Programs Office will be closed on Thursday, December 23, Friday, December 24 and Friday, December 31 in observance of the Christmas and New Year’s holidays.
I wish you all the best of luck with your application to the program. Please be patient with us over the next several weeks. We will do our absolute best to communicate with you on a timely basis, but it is the holidays after all, so mail delays and staff absences may create a back-log as we process all of your applications.
