The title of my post sounds a lot like something Joan Rivers would say on Fashion Police on E!; however, it actually refers to an email that was sent to me regarding one of my tasks I had been working on!
“Sending it out to the Field Specialists as is would likely lead to confusion, concern, and set everyone up for failure.”
Well, I’m not going to lie–this wasn’t the most pleasant things I’ve ever received via email, but one of my bosses told me to use this and learn from it. Or as Hannah Montana says, “Nobody’s perfect, I gotta work it again and again ’til I get it right…” I wasn’t as explicit as I needed to be in the email and was told to reach out to the Field Specialists individually by phone and explain what I had created for them rather than dish it out in an email. After reaching out to them by phone, the tool was much easier to explain and I was also able to get a little feedback from them too which was good!
I can’t believe I only have four weeks left here in California! This Ford internship has given me more useful experience than any job I’ve ever had before. What I like most about this internship is that I’ve been able to devote almost all of my time to one specific project. It makes me feel like I am actually making an impact to the company (well Ford is gigantic, so my impact is probably microscopic!).
I’ll end this post with some pictures! My birthday was last week and my boss bought a cake and everyone in the office sang to me! I was incredibly surprised and probably turned a lovely shade of fire engine red, but it was so lovely!
I also included some pictures of the other interns in the Irvine office! They found out about this blog and were super jealous that their schools didn’t have intern bloggers, so I told them I’d give them a shout out. I forget that not every school is as wonderful as OSU :)
