It’s true. Packing is a game of Tetris. As I sit in my hometown of Howland, Ohio, I’m glad I took this internship, but not so glad I’m packing. Working for Ford Motor Company, specifically the Lincoln brand will prove to be an exciting time. A lot of interns are already on site and are acclimated to the area and I’m excited to meet them when I move in on Saturday.
As I look back to what led me to this internship, it’s a little bit of everything. Let’s rewind a bit. I grew up watching my Mom own a dealership and instantly knew that I really enjoyed the auto industry. Fast forward to Ohio State and Fisher College of Business and I chose marketing because it’s so incredibly versatile. Press play, watch a bit further to my third year and Career Management had two or three auto companies hiring interns for the summer. And so the movie stops at Ford which offers some of the best options for interns and provides us with real hands-on experience.
So as I’m sitting here packing my Chevy in Ohio to move to Michigan to work for Ford (ironic, right?) I can’t help but reflect on all of the wonderful steps of this Buckeye movie that have led me to play this game of Tetris.
