A Lesson in Persistence

It’s been a hot minute since I’ve gotten my blog on. I apologize. Spring quarter is a whirlwind of activity and it’s hard to believe we’re at the end of week eight!

Since the beginning of the quarter I’ve had some great experiences: Duke MBA Games, Fisher Grad Games, Fisher Follies, Fisher Formal, and most recently, Utsav. The most memorable event of the past quarter though was the culmination of my career search. It goes a little something like this…

Johnson & Johnson:
“We welcome the opportunity to make you an offer to join Johnson & Johnson and the HR Leadership Development Program!”

It’s funny how things turn out. A couple months ago I was seriously doubting myself and my abilities. I thought about going back for more school. I thought about moving back home and starting my own business. Now I’m working for my dream company in the industry that I’m most passionate about in a leadership rotational program. Everything that I wanted.

Never. Give. Up.

“Nothing in the world can take the place of Persistence. Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with talent. Genius will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverb. Education will not; the world is full of educated derelicts. Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent. The slogan ‘Press On’ has solved and always will solve the problems of the human race.” – Calvin Coolidge
