Third Quarter Update
It has been a while since my last blog, but I’ve had absolutely no time this quarter. It’s actually a little strange considering I’m only taking four classes and my internship search is complete. My lack of time is directly correlated to the increased reading load of the core classes. Strategy and Global Business alone require us to read and understand several case studies a week and, in addition, Global Business requires us to read The Economist and prepare for a quiz every Wednesday. I might have mentioned this before, but if you’re unfamiliar with The Economist it is basically a dry, British magazine focused on global affairs from a British perspective. It’s not the most amusing way to spend a Tuesday night.
In order to remain sane with all the reading, I have really looked forward to our weekly intramural softball games. The team has improved each week and we’ve really surprised people who have underestimated us because of our 30th seed ranking. Unfortunately our season ended tonight in the quarter-finals. We played a solid game against the law school, but we had one bad inning and it turned out to be too much to overcome. It’s unfortunate because we were probably the two best teams in the tournament and if we had been able to beat the law school, we probably could have won the whole tournament. I guess it’s time to recommit 100% to classes, projects and finals.
