Fall Apartment Search
The fall 2010 apartment search already began last week. I have decided to live with a couple of my classmates next year. I’m excited about having roommates, but also a little nervous. It has been a long time since I have had a roommate who isn’t a family member. Overall, I’m much less nervous than I thought I would be and I’m looking forward to possibly holding some MLHR social events at our new place next year.
We searched from 10AM to about 3PM last Friday and saw a handful of places. Our first stop was Olentangy Commons, also known as the OC. We really liked the apartments at Olentangy Commons, but it was our first stop so of course we kept looking. We then went to Olentangy Village. The apartments looked amazing from the pictures, but they didn’t have any units to show us. Obviously we would not sign a lease without seeing the property. It was kind of a disappointment. Next we saw a couple of very scary houses. Those were crossed off the list immediately! Then, off to River Oaks. River Oaks was great and the price was perfect. The only downfall was the distance from campus. We had a lot to think about and decided to keep searching.
Wednesday we had an appointment to see a half-double in German Village. We all love German Village and the place we looked at was super cute and big. The proximity to campus and downtown are a huge plus as well. So, our decision has been made, the lease has been signed, the deposit paid, and we are all really excited about our place for next year!
