Snow Day?
It has been snowing pretty consistently all day (so much for a snow free winter quarter) and I’m a little hesitant to go to my class this evening. I live in Pickerington which is about 30 minutes southeast of campus. Sometimes if the traffic or weather is bad it takes me over an hour to get to campus. I’m not too concerned about getting there, and if we do in fact have class, I would like to be there. I’m more worried about driving home between 9 and 10 PM when the snow has had a chance to cover up the vehicle tracks from earlier in the day. I probably shouldn’t be such a wimp about it, especially since I did grow up in the Midwest, but I think I got a bit spoiled by the three years that I lived in Texas.
I also really don’t want to show up and then find out we are not having class after all. This happened for my first class this quarter and I was pretty irritated about it. The weather wasn’t as bad as it is today, but I drove all the way to campus to find out that the professor wasn’t coming and he had one of the students pass out the syllabus. I would think that he could have at least e-mailed us to let us know that he decided he wasn’t going to come. That, in my opinion, is just common courtesy.
I guess I will continue to check the weather updates to find out if I am going to venture out. On a positive note, it looks like great sledding snow!
