Time and Change
If you were thinking this post was going to be about Carmen, Ohio, you are wrong. It is about daylight-saving time (DST). Modern DST was proposed in 1895 by George Vernon Hudson. He presented a paper to the Wellington Philosophical Society proposing a two-hour daylight-saving shift. He was an entomologist and an astronomer and realized the importance of having extra daylight in the afternoon.
The best part about this year's DST was that it fell on Halloween night! Everyone that dressed up for Halloween had an extra hour to enjoy being dressed up, as most places stayed open until 2 AM, twice. I went up to Cleveland to meet up with my friends and we had a planned group costume. Can you guess who we are?
Top 5 costumes that I saw last night:
1. Energizer Bunny- complete with the drum.
2. Alan from the Hangover- not the dude I went with- no, this guy went all out- grew an actual beard, had on the shirt that was worn in the movie, and had a baby carrier with a baby doll.
3. Harry and Lloyd from Dumb and Dumber in the tuxedos.
4. Crown and Coke- trust me, it was good.
5- A corona with a lime.
