Meet Rebecca Zurek, Assistant Director of Recruiting and Admissions!

 

 

 

 

 

 

BS Psychology – SUNY College at Cortland, 2010

Master of Labor and Human Resources- The Ohio State University, 2012

Prior to joining the Admissions team at Fisher, Rebecca earned a Bachelor of Science from SUNY College at Cortland and a Master of Labor and Human Resources from The Ohio State University. While working at The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company in their Global Training & Development department following graduation, Rebecca found herself drawn back to the Ohio State campus for recruiting events. She soon realized that her passion was to help recruit for the very programs that made an impact on her while she was at the university!

Prior to moving to Ohio, Rebecca grew up living on opposite sides of the country in both central New York and the lower part of Alaska. While completing her undergraduate degree she worked in a Psychophysiology Research Laboratory and ran intercollegiate Track & Field as a multi-event heptathlete. As a runner who is from small towns, Rebecca now enjoys jogging around town and exploring all of the wonderful things that Columbus city has to offer!

A few of her favorite things:

Place in Columbus: The Ohio State University Oval, The Short North District, Goodale Park

Restaurant: Ray Ray’s Barbeque Pit, Wildflower Café, Skillet

TV Show: Breaking Bad, Game of Thrones, Skins

Food: Both coffee and cheese play large roles in her diet

Fisher International Students Find Career Success

Ohio State Wins M&A Case Competition

A team of Fisher MBA students recently came back from a Mergers and Acquisitions Case Competition in Maryland with a big check in hand (physically and monetarily)!  Kevin VanderMolen, AJ Remlinger, Gregg Silver, and Beau Hammond finished first in the Mergers and Acquisitions Competition. The prestigious event brings together student teams from top business schools to create and present M&A pitches to a panel of Wall Street bankers and corporate executives.

 

 


Another successful Fisher Season Premiere

Those of you that got the chance to participate in our Fisher Season Premiere event this past weekend certainly got to see us at our finest.  We welcomed an outstanding group of prospective Fisher MBA candidates on campus for a jam-packed day of learning, team-building, networking, socializing and, of course, eating!

Fisher MBA Alum plans to open board game cafe!

Our own Fisher MBA Alumna, Malika de Silva, is featured in today’s Columbus Dispatch!  She plans to open up Board Room Cafe & Lounge in downtown Columbus this fall.  Check it out!

B.A. Strategic Communications – The Ohio State University, 2008

Natalie graduated from The Ohio State University with a bachelor’s degree in Strategic Communications and Political Science. Before coming to Fisher she worked for Sears Holdings Corporation and in Undergraduate Admissions at Ohio State-she just loves to help recruit Buckeyes!

Natalie is from southeastern Ohio and grew up on the river so she loves to boat and enjoys most water related activities! In her free time she loves to cheer on the Buckeyes, take Zumba classes, try out new recipes and spend time with her friends and family.

As we gear up for another exciting year of recruiting, I thought it would be nice to introduce you to the members of the MBA Recruiting and Admissions Team!  This is especially important since two of our members are brand new.  Today, I introduce Julee Conrad:

Assistant Director, MBA Recruiting and Admissions

BS Accounting – Miami University, 2005

MAcc – The Ohio State University, 2006

Prior to joining the Admissions team at Fisher, Julee earned a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Miami University and a Master of Accounting from The Ohio State University.  After working for KPMG as an auditor and then as a recruiter, Julee returned to her ‘home’ with the Buckeyes!

A native of Ohio, she grew up on a farm and loves spending time outdoors.  If she isn’t on Fisher’s campus, she can be found jogging with her husband, reading, or finding a new frozen yogurt shop.
