Nevin Bansal (MBA '07) found that earning his Fisher MBA rewarded him in areas beyond the classroom, including forging lasting friendships, building his self-confidence and gaining the principled leadership skills needed to grow a successful marketing solutions company consistently recognized for its community stewardship. Nevin and his wife, Sunita Nag Bansal (MBA '06), are both proud graduates of Fisher's MBA program. 

What did graduating from Ohio State mean to you?

Achieving an important milestone in my life and career. My time at Ohio State was filled with developmental experiences, lasting friendships and innovative thinking that has allowed me to improve my career and set up our family for financial security.

What are some of your recent accomplishments?

Nevin Bansal and familyI’m a member of the Fisher Alumni Board; a board member of the Council for Smaller Enterprises, a division of the Greater Cleveland Partnership; and a member of the Columbus Chamber of Commerce Small Business Council.

My company, Outreach Promotional Solutions, has been a central Ohio Corporate Caring Finalist for four straight years because of our community giving. I've founded and grown a business over the last four years, and revenue has increased 10 times over year one. In addition, I've been able to add one to two new employees per year and secure larger clients. We've developed unique partnerships across Ohio with nonprofits, chambers and other business organizations.

How has Ohio State/Fisher equipped, prepared you or made a difference in your career?

Ohio State and Fisher have provided me with experiences that help me be successful, confident and prepared to solve problems every day. Not only did my MBA from Fisher increase my compensation, but it created the confidence that I can tackle any challenge, build relationships and make the correct decisions.

What advice would you give to a current student or recent Fisher graduate?

Build your network. This means reaching out to people you can learn from, you find interesting, or you can connect with to increase opportunities. Set a goal—maybe one new person a week—and you will meet 50 new people in a year. Look at people in career fields you're interested in and companies that interest you.
