Resources at the University

The Multicultural Center, located in the Ohio Union has a number of LGBTQ resources. Angie Wellman is an intercultural specialist for LGBT Student Initiatives. Contact her at wellman.63@osu.edu .

The LGBTQ First-Year Cohort, a program of the Multicultural Center, meets every Monday at 8 p.m. The group connects LGBTQ students who are new to campus, or who are dealing with coming-out issues, to each other and community resources through peer support, leadership development and education. The cohort is facilitated by both students and Multicultural Center staff.

The Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer, Questioning and Ally (LGBTQ&A) Student Association, a program of the Multicultural Center, meets at 6 p.m. on the second and fourth Mondays of every month. This group is dedicated to education, outreach, collaboration and social activities to foster an environment of understanding, respect and unity between the LGBTQ community and the larger community with the direct support and assistance of straight allies.

Stonewall Columbus has a number of programs and resources. Their office is a few blocks south of campus at 1160 North High Street.

Bravo: Buckeye Region Anti-violence Organization: Serves the GLBT community with advocacy and assistance regarding hate crimes, discrimination, domestic violence, and sexual assault.  Bravo can be reached by calling 1-866-862-7286.

The Ohio State University Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual and Transgender (GLBT) Alumni Society is a very active organization involved in the campus community.

The Bias Assessment Response Team can help if you have had the unfortunate experience of either witnessing or being the victim of a hate or bias-related incident.
