Bill Raabe moved to Columbus Ohio in Summer 2001.  Bill is a tax educator and author.  He has been active as a director of several large not-for-profits, and he has worked for a number of consulting firms, universities, CPA societies, and bar associations as a lecturer and educational designer.  Bill's work was examined by publications in Milwaukee and Birmingham.

Bill and Nancy are member of the Association of Lutheran Church Musicians.  Bill has supported the ALCM and the church at large in hymn Seal of Martin Lutherfestivals and recording projects.  He endowed the biennial Raabe Prize for Excellence in Sacred Composition. 

Bill Raabe has worked for over a decade with church music composers to sustain and strengthen the musical heritage of the Lutheran church.  Over sixty commissioned compositions have been completed, with many of them being published and/or recorded.  Here is a summary of the commissioned works.

Bill is a trained classical singer.  He often serves as assisting minister or worship leader, chanting and leading the congregation in singing.  One publication explored the work that Bill did at Peace Lutheran Church, New Berlin WI, in training young people to become cantors.  Another noted how Bill has used technology in various endeavors.In front of Mahler's New York apartment

Bill and Nancy Raabe were married in 1989.  Nancy M Raabe is a professional musician and composer; Augsburg Fortress, MorningStar Music, and Choristers Guild have published some of her piano, organ, choral, and vocal works and books.  She plays french horn, keyboards, and several other instruments.  Nancy was a classical music critic in Milwaukee and Birmingham (AL), and has written for the New York Times and Boston Globe.  She is a graduate of Pomona College and Trinity Lutheran Seminary (OH).

Margaret and Martin Raabe were born in Wisconsin and then lived in Birmingham AL for five years.

Margaret Raabe, age 21, graduated Summa Cum Laude from the College of Wooster (OH), and she was named to Phi Beta Kappa as a junior.  She was named Wooster's female Scholar-Athlete of the Year; Margaret lettered for four years on the varsity volleyball team and was its 2011 captain.  Margaret was named one of the top music students in the nation by receiving the National School Choral Award from Bexley High School, and she visited Europe with the Bexley Vocal Ensemble singing Mozart.  Margaret holds the Bexley High School volleyball record for most service aces in a season, and her team won the most volleyball games of any Bexley squad ever, reaching the state elite eight.  Margaret is studying for an engineering career, pursuing a PhD at the Ohio State University in sports biomechanics.

Martin Raabe, age 20, attends St Olaf College (MN).  An accomplished singer, he has done numerous solos at the school and in the church.  He is a member of the Cantorei, and he is the Vice President of Worship at the St Olaf chapel.  Martin played varsity football at Bexley High School since he was a freshman, and he started 26 games in a row as a lineman.  The Bexley team reached the state playoffs for its only time ever in his junior year.  Martin is studying to prepare for a career in government and public service, and he is a leader of the St Olaf Political Activities Committee.

The kids' grandparents live in Milwaukee WI and Claremont CA.  The Columbus Raabes share their home with four cats and a dog.
