The DeSales boys basketball team wrapped up its second straight undefeated league title season with its 86-39 home win over Rosecrans Friday.

The Stallions (17-3, 10-0 Central Catholic League) were able to run through the traditionally tough league unblemished despite the knowledge the other teams they played would bring their best effort each time out.

"Since we won it last year and were undefeated, I think everyone was gunning for us this year," senior Dane Johnson said. "It was difficult, but we did it. We came through with big plays in big games and got it done."

Senior Alex Kellogg led the way with 29 points. Johnson scored 11 and senior Elijah Allen added 10.

DeSales also defeated St. Charles on the road Thursday.

The Stallions play the winner of the first-round game between Big Walnut and Centennial at Olentangy Liberty Saturday (8 p.m.).

Big Walnut and Centennial meet at Dublin Coffman today (8 p.m.).

After advancing to the state final four in last year's tournament, DeSales will be looking to get back there again.

"I think we just need to focus on each game," Johnson said. "People do know that we have been there before and we have a lot of guys back. It's going to be tough, but if we focus on our defense and rebounding we have a chance to do some damage."
