Diedalis provides boost for DeSales

Cris Diedalis converted a key three-point play in the fourth quarter that lifted host DeSales to a 54-51 victory over Watterson in a Central Catholic League game last night.

Diedalis' basket and free throw put the Stallions ahead 49-46 with 2:25 remaining.

Dane Johnson sealed the win by sinking 4 of 4 free throws the rest of the way.

Jimmy McCurdy, who paced Watterson (3-1, 1-1) with 17 points, missed a three-point attempt as time expired. Justin Browning added 14 points for the Eagles.

David Knapke had 12 points and Andrew Thomas 10 to pace DeSales (2-3, 2-0), which outrebounded Watterson 36-24.
