Borghese's 34 carry DeSales past Rosecrans

Saturday, December 16, 2000

Tony Borghese scored 13 of his game-high 34 points in the fourth quarter, including 5 of 5 free throws, as DeSales held off a late rally by visiting Zanesville Rosecrans for a 76-71 win in a Central Catholic League boys basketball game last night.

Ryan Bates scored 25 points and Pat Tidball 20 to lead the Bishops (1-3, 0-2), who overcame a 12-point deficit to tie the score at 64. But the Stallions (3-0, 2-0) scored the next five points and led the rest of the way.

Mike Love added 22 points for DeSales.
