How to Hand in an Exercise

For each exercise, you need to submit (1) an executable file via e-mail and (2) hard-copy of your program code.  The hard-copy of your program code is to be submitted in class.  Both the executable file and the hard-copy of program code need to be submitted before their specified deadlines.  Exercises will not be graded without hard-copy of your program code.  No late submission will be accepted.

Submitted file name:  The name of the executable file submitted electronically consists of three parts: (1) up to the first 8 letters of your last name (2) the first letter of your first name and (3) exercise ID (1 for Exercise 1, 2 for Exercise 2, and so on).  The three parts are connected hyphens.  You need to use a different extension for the homework assignment so that it can be recieved by hotmail and sent by some mail servers.  Use .jb for the file extension (rename the .exe file do not save as).  For example, the following filename is for Exercise 1 from the student whose name is Jim ABCDEFGHIJKLMNOP:

ABCDEFGH-J-1.jb

For a student named Kelley ABC the following filename should be used for Exercise 6:

ABC-K-6.jb

The file should be e-mailed as attachment to me at butler532@hotmail.com

On the subject line of your e-mail, enter the file name.  Unless otherwise noted, attach only ONE file to your e-mail.
The hardcopy of your program code shall include your full name and the name of the executable file that you submitted electronically.  Submissions not conforming to the above naming standard will not be graded.  Students are responsible for keeping copies of their exercises.  Once an exercise has been graded and returned, the files will no longer be kept by the instructor.

Viruses can cause severe damage to computing resource throughout the college.  If you mail in a virus infected program, you will get a zero on that assignment, lose one full grade from your final grade (e.g., from A to B), and be subject to other penalties.  This is a serious matter.
