Entrepreneurship and Innovation Scholarships DEADLINE MARCH 31, 2015

Fisher College is proud to award scholarships to any Ohio State student pursuing an entrepreneurship minor.  

The Fred Miller Fund for Excellence
The Fred Miller Fund for Excellence provides scholarship support to undergraduates with preference for accounting majors who exhibit leadership, community service and an entrepreneurial spirit.  The Undergraduate office at the Fisher College of Business shall make selection with formal approval by the Dean of Fisher College of Business.

The Randall C. and Peggy North Mosher Family Scholarship Fund
This fund shall be used to support on scholarship for an undergraduate student with financial need who is pursuing a minor in Entrepreneurship, enrolled in classes offered by the Center for Entrepreneurship, or has otherwise expressed an interest in the study of Entrepreneurship as determined by the Fisher College of Business. The Undergraduate Programs Office of the Fisher College of Business shall be responsible for selecting scholarship recipients and coordinating these scholarships with the University’s Office of Student Financial Aid.

The Heffner Internship Scholars Program
The Fisher Undergraduate office will award three students each year (two undergraduate and one graduate or all undergraduate), with $2,500 scholarships for summer internships. The fund will support summer internship opportunities like those included in the Silicon Valley New Ventures Program or other internship opportunities that provide valuable education and hands-on work experience. Students may also apply for the internship funds to support unique internship experiences during the May Term. Select students may be awarded $500.00 to support internship opportunities during Ohio State’s May Term window. All funds will be used to cover expenses traditionally not covered by academic scholarships, including travel, room, and board fees. If costs related to the recipient’s internship experience do not reach $2,500, remaining funds may be used as scholarship towards tuition.


  • Be an Ohio State University student who is in good academic standing and has a demonstrated financial need for the scholarship funds
  • If recipient is an undergraduate, s/he must secure and complete the field internship experience during sophomore or junior year or during the summer before junior or senior year
  • If recipient is a graduate student, s/he must secure and complete the field internship experience during the second year of study or during the summer before the second year
  • Internship locations must be more than 50 miles from recipient’s place of residence

The Hrusovsky Family Internship Award
The fund will support Fisher College of Business students seeking internships in information technology. Administered by the Fisher College Undergraduate office, the funds can be used to cover expenses traditionally not covered by academic scholarships, including travel, room, and board fees for each student. The award may be distributed anytime during the calendar year.

Fisher College of Business Undergraduate Program offers competitive recruitment scholarships to incoming freshmen students enrolled on the Columbus campus. Applicants must be U.S. citizens, admitted to pre-major or major program in Fisher College of Business at The Ohio State University for Autumn 2014. Renewable up to one year if selected recipients meet criteria determined by selection committee.

Scholarships can come from different sources and have various awarding criteria. Ohio State offers numerous institutional scholarships for incoming freshmen and enrolled students. Edward S. "Beanie" Drake Student Leader Endowment Fund

The purpose of this scholarship is to provide funds that enable deserving students to participate in campus activities when need might otherwise make it impossible for them to do so. Bartels Study Abroad Scholarship
The Office of International Education and the Fisher College of Business are pleased to announce a scholarship competition to aid undergraduate students who plan to enroll in a University-sponsored Study Abroad Program of at least 5 weeks duration and for a minimum of 9 semester hours of credit. Awards will be made on the basis of the students who have a 3.5 grade point average or higher. Students receiving awards will be required to submit proof of enrollment in an authorized OSU study abroad program or study tour.
Awards vary. Non-credit tours or excursions are not eligible. Preference will be given to Fisher College of Business students. Download an application form.  Deadline is March 14, 2015.
Office of Global Business/CIBER Study Abroad Scholarship
The Fisher College of Business Office of Global Business offers travel grants to students who participate in FCOB and/or OSU endorsed Study Abroad Programs. Strong priority will be placed on supporting business students attending programs at FCOB partner institutions. Students must submit completed materials to the Fisher College of Business Office of Global Business by 5:00 p.m., May 15th regardless of holidays or weekends. 
Office of International Affairs Scholarships
Faculty and staff are asked to encourage students to apply now for study abroad scholarships. Three scholarships administered by the Office of International Affairs are now available and applications are being accepted. The Wolfe, Firebaugh and Endowed Fund scholarships have the potential to provide a number of students with funds to help pay for their study abroad programs.
The Polish Studies Initiative
The Polish Studies Initiative (PSI) is accepting applications for scholarships and research grants for the upcoming summer.  Language training and study-abroad scholarships are available for undergraduates for May or Summer 2014.  The deadline to apply is Monday, February 3, 2014.  Read more and apply online
Gilman International Scholarship
The Gilman International Scholarship Program provides awards of up to $5,000 for U.S. undergraduate students to study abroad for up to one academic year. Eligibility: Students must be receiving a Federal Pell Grant at the time of application or during the time they are studying abroad and cannot be studying abroad in a country currently under a U.S. Department of State Travel Warning or in Cuba. [Gilman International Scholarship Program]
Undergraduate Student Government Academic Enrichment Grants

Undergraduate Student Government (USG) and the Office of Undergraduate Education recognize that the academic experience is not limited to the classroom and are proud to offer Academic Enrichment Grants (AEGs) ranging from $100 to $1,200 to fund such learning experiences for individuals.

In the past Academic Enrichment Grants have funded independent student research materials, research or professional development conferences, non-OSU affiliated study abroad costs, and other innovative, student driven projects.

CREW Network 2015/2016 Scholarship

We are excited to announce that we are now accepting applications for the 2015/2016 CREW Network Scholarships, and we wanted you to be one of the first to know. The Sales and Marketing Executives of Cleveland Education Foundation provides scholarship support for qualified students in the Greater Cleveland area.

Insurance Accounting & Systems Assoc. (IASA) 2015 Scholarship

The IASA Scholarship was established in 2009 to provide scholarships to students preparing for a career in the insurance industry. IASA is one of the insurance industry's oldest and largest associations focused on providing education to insurance professionals.

Derek Hughes/NASPLO Educational Foundation Scholarship

The Derek Hughes/NAPSLO Educational Foundation is now accepting applications for scholarships for the 2014-15 school year from students pursuing insurance or business related studies. In general, students must be enrolled, or accepted for enrollment, in an undergraduate or postgraduate degree program, majoring in Accounting, Actuarial Science, Business, Economics, Finance, Insurance, Management, Marketing, Mathematics, Risk Management, or Statistics. Students also must have and maintain a GPA of 3.0 or above and be enrolled in at least 12 credit hours each semester. Financial need is considered in awarding scholarships. The Foundation awarded 14 $5,000 scholarships in 2013 and  expects to award a similar number this year.

Entrepreneur’s Change Lives 2015 Scholarship.

The Entrepreneurs Change Lives Scholarship is an annual $1,000 scholarship awarded to an aspiring future entrepreneur who is currently enrolled in an undergraduate business program at a college or university or is a high school student who has been accepted into a school with an undergraduate business program. 

The winning applicant will provide the best 200-300 word essay on how entrepreneurship can bring awareness and action to social issues.

Northsteppe/T. Ewing Miller Memorial Scholarship Fund

This scholarship was established by the Michael and Linda Stickney Foundation. Michael is the broker of NorthSteppe Realty, and the great-great grandson of Thomas Ewing Miller. This scholarship fund is to commemorate Thomas Ewing Miller's 125th anniversary of his Presidency and membership to the Board of Trustees of The Ohio State University.

Eligibility Requirements:
  • Candidates must be a sophomore or higher at The Ohio State University (OSU).
  • Candidates must have a keen interest in real estate, as demonstrated by enrollment in a real estate class at OSU's Fisher College of Business.
  • Candidates must have a minimum grade point average of 2.75.
  • Preference may be given to candidates who are working through college, either full- or part-time.

T.E. Miller Scholarship 

This scholarship was established by The Linda & Michael Stickney Foundation.  Michael is the Broker of NorthSteppe Realty, and the great-great grandson of Thomas Ewing Miller.  In its first year, this scholarship fund is to commemorate Thomas Ewing Miller’s 125th anniversary of his Presidency and membership to the Board of Trustees to The Ohio State University.·   Applicant must have achieved sophomore status or higher at The Ohio State University

Risk and Insurance Management Society (RIMS) Scholarship

The Northeast Ohio chapter of the Risk and Insurance Management Society (RIMS) is currently accepting applications for college scholarships for the 2015-16 academic year. Scholarships are intended for students from Northeast Ohio, who are studying or interested in a career in risk management or the insurance industry (other majors, such as Finance, will be considered if the student can demonstrate orientation toward a Risk Management career).
