FisherDirect: A Four-Year Initiative
A four-year experience: Engage → Emerge → Lead → Reflect
A variety of activities and programs (including invitations to speakers, community building events, mentoring and networking opportunities, etc.) will be offered to all FisherDirect students throughout the four years.
In addition, the FisherDirect initiative incorporates experiences specially designed to focus on each of the 4 years while a Fisher/Ohio State student.

- Fisher Friday Networking Series
- Dine with the Dean
- Mentor Programs (Peer to Peer, Alumni, and WPMBA Mentoring Programs)
- Annual Kick-Off and Year-End Recognition events
- FisherDirect Community Building events
First-year: Engage
Opportunities designed specifically to engage First-Year FisherDirect students within Fisher and the college experience include:
- Attendance at FisherDirect Welcome Activities at the start of school
- Possible involvement in one of the Fisher learning communities including:
Business Scholars Program
Business Honors Learning Community
Global Business Learning Community
- Mentee in the Peer Mentorship Program (w/ upper-division student)
- Participation in Fisher Citizenship Program
- Encouraged participation in one additional student organization.
- Involvement with ongoing FisherDirect initiatives and attendance at special FisherDirect events
Sophomore Year: Emerge
Opportunities designed specifically for Sophomore FisherDirect students to emerge within Fisher include:
- Sophomore Interest Groups including: Student Philanthropy and the Emerging Leaders Series
- Company Site-Visit Program
- Career Management Professional Development Series
- Mentor Engagement with the Alumni Mentor Program or the Working Professional MBA Mentorship Program
- Encouraged participation in at least one Fisher student organization and one non-Fisher student organization
- Involvement with on-going FisherDirect initiatives and attendance at special FisherDirect events
Junior Year: Lead
As juniors, FisherDirect students are expected to be leaders within the Fisher College of Business through:
- Participation in one of the following experiences:
- Industry Clusters
- Honors Cohort, Honors Contract, Honors Accounting
- Dean’s Leadership Academy
- Study Abroad/International Experience
- Internship Opportunity
- Research Opportunity
- Case Competition(s)
- Serving as a mentor to first-year FisherDirect students
- Encouraged participation and leadership in at least one Fisher student organization and one non-Fisher student organization
- Involvement with ongoing FisherDirect initiatives and attendance at special FisherDirect events
Senior Year: Reflect
In preparation for success upon graduation, FisherDirect seniors will focus on reflecting on their four years within Fisher and at Ohio State through a series of initiatives and opportunities including the following:
- Senior Success Series (Surviving Life After College)
- Serve as a Mentor to first-year FisherDirect students
- Encouraged involvement in Case Competitions
- Closing Recognition Banquet
- Special Recognition at Graduation
- Encouraged continued participation and encouragement of a leadership position in at least 1 Fisher student organization and 1 non-Fisher student organization
- Involvement with on-going FisherDirect initiatives and attendance at special FisherDirect events
