JOHN BROZICK: John is a sophomore at the Smeal College of Business at the Pennsylvania State University. John is majoring in finance and considering a minor in economics. He is the Associate Information Technology Manger in the Nittany Lion Fund, a student-managed equity mutual fund with $4.9 million from a total of 69 alumni investors. In the summer of 2007, John was the Director of the Portfolio Analysis Group, where he generated extensive weekly reports of the Nittany Lion Fund’s performance for investors to review. Also during the summer, John collaborated with Dean Thomas of the Smeal College of Business to create an informative and interactive student-centered website. Next summer, John hopes to have an internship at one of the premier investment banks on Wall Street. John enjoys playing acoustic guitar, jogging, and reading.
SIMRAN GROVER: Simran is a junior attending the Schreyer Honors College at Penn State University, majoring in Finance and minoring in Economics and Spanish. She is an active member of Penn State's Residence Association, serving as treasurer last year and the Executive Vice President this year. She has also been a mentor for the honors college to first year students, a tutor for honors classes offered, a teaching assistant for a Leadership Jumpstart class, and is very involved with the Penn State Dance Marathon. Simran was a recipient of the Robert W. “Bear” Koehler Award in recognition of demonstrating the promise to attain a record of service achievement to the SHC and PSU. She was also introduced at Penn State's President’s Convocation for receiving outstanding freshman achievement. After her freshman year, Simran interned with Lockheed Martin over the summer in their Government Compliance department, and last summer, she worked at General Electric, performing an audit on their supplier held equipment located abroad.
MATTHEW SIMONETTI: Matthew is a senior working towards dual degrees in finance and economics at the Pennsylvania State University. In the Penn State Nittany Lion Fund, a $4.9 million student-managed equity fund invested in by alumni, Matthew currently serves as the Secretary, and previously acted as the Information Technology Fund Manager. As a Schreyer Honors Scholar, Matthew wrote an analysis of how foreign direct investment in China fosters competition with state-owned enterprises. He has had internships at Bear Stearns & Co. in derivatives, and, more recently, at Citi in Capital Markets Structuring & Origination. After graduating in December, Matthew plans to travel in South America and Asia, and will begin a career at Citi in July. Matthew seeks adventure in triathlons, kayaking, and orienteering. At the 2006 Fisher Biz Quiz, Matthew led his team to an overall third place finish.
