Summer 2012 Transfer Credit

If you are a current OSU student, and you are planning to take business courses at another institution over the summer, please carefully review the following information.

Summer 2012 Pre-evaluations:

The Undergraduate Programs and Advising Office will not be providing pre-evaluations of courses that do not have a direct OSU equivalent at transfer.org. Due to the semester conversion, and content changes across many courses both at OSU, and other institutions in Ohio, we are unable to evaluate courses which transfer to OSU as General or Special credit for equivalency until after the summer course is completed.

International Evaluations:

Fisher is a strong proponent of international study experiences, however, we will be unable to evaluate for equivalency, business courses completed at international institutions that are not part of the Fisher International Exchange Program. (http://fisher.osu.edu/international/student-exchange/exchange-partners/). These institutions have been carefully chosen based on the rigor of their curriculum, their consistency in delivery and their match with the coursework offered at Fisher.

Business courses completed summer 2012 at international institutions that are not part of the Fisher Exchange Program, but for which credit does transfer to Ohio State will remain as General or Special credit on the OSU transcript.

Future Transfer Students:

If you are an undergraduate at another institution planning to transfer to the Fisher College of Business, please refer to this list and follow the links below for more information.

  • Applicability of General Education transfer Credits: Students transferring from other colleges and universities often can meet part of the GEC requirements with equivalent courses. Credits for each transfer student are reviewed, and credits in courses which meet the spirit of the GEC are accepted.
  • Admissions to the Business Administration major is based in part on grade point average (see Admissions). For transfer students, a "merge GPA" which is weighted average of all non-technical college work, is used for admission consideration. Students must submit copies of all college transcripts when applying to the business major program.
  • Refer to the Checklist and Information for Further Evaluation of Business Related Transfer Credit PDF.
