Register a New Student Organization

Student Organization Registration

Existing Organizations

To be recognized as an active graduate student organization at Fisher, groups must ensure that the following steps are completed on an annual basis:

  1. Submission of the annual student organization registration form by April 24, 2009.
  2. Active status with The Ohio State University SOURCE (Student Organization Resource Center).
  3. Updated website on the Fisher student organization pages.
  4. Bulletin board on the 2nd floor of Gerlach Hall.

Items above must be completed by the annual deadline of October 15, 2009 for groups to be eligible for the maximum allotment of funding through the Graduate Programs Office (GPO). Groups that do not meet this deadline can be eligible for active status following this date, but GPO allotment will decrease.

New Organizations

To be registered through the Fisher College of Business as a graduate student organization, one must complete and submit a proposal, which includes the student organization registration form. The proposal will be submitted to Kaylin Ward, the Student Organization Program Manager in the Graduate Programs Office. Information needed to complete the proposal include the following:

  • Student organization registration form: This includes student organization name, officers, advisor, statement of purpose, and a description of proposed group events and activities.
  • Letter of support from the selected advisor.

Once the proposal is submitted, the student leader will need to schedule an appointment with the Student Organization Manager and members from the Fisher Graduate Student Association (FGSA) to review the proposal. The meeting will occur within 3 weeks of the submission date, and if submitted at the end of the academic year the proposal will be reviewed in the fall of the next academic year. The Student Organization Manager and representatives from the FGSA will review the proposal, and inform the proposed organization about the outcome.
