FisherServes

FisherServes is a graduate student-led organization at Fisher that is committed to promoting awareness of civic and social responsibility and connecting Fisher College of Business with the Columbus community by leading service-based initiatives. All students that are currently enrolled at Fisher are considered members of the FisherServes organization.

FisherServes is led by an executive committee of students from all Fisher graduate programs and consists of three subcommittees:

  • Community Outreach/Pro-bono consulting group seeks pro-bono consulting projects from not-for-profit organizations. Once these projects have been identified, the sub-committee matches these organizations with students and faculty who are interested in working with them. Projects can be anything from a weekend-long “brainstorming” project to a quarterly commitment with defined deliverables and outcomes.
  • General Volunteering Committee plans a portfolio of volunteering and service initiatives to promote student engagement in service. Activities range from volunteering at organizations such as Habitat for Humanity and the Mid-Ohio Food Bank. This committee will organize a few visits each quarter to ensure that students find volunteer opportunities that fit their schedule and interests. This also eliminates the need for students to seek out the opportunities themselves.
  • Philanthropy plans and and executes fundraising events for select not-for-profit partners throughout the year. FisherServes' largest and most popular philanthropy event is the Grad Games. It is an annual Olympics-style event that spans the different grad schools at OSU and will now be opened up to other MBA programs in the nation. Last year this event was able to raise funds for the local charity, I Know I Can.

Fisher 5K

FisherServes organizes the Fisher 5K, an annual charity Run/Walk (5 kilometers or 3.1 miles) which began in 2004 and is held on The Ohio State University campus. It is the largest service event hosted by the Fisher graduate programs and the largest 5K on campus. Learn more.
