Biography

Aravind Chandrasekaran is an Assistant Professor in Management Sciences at the Fisher College of Business, The Ohio State University. He received his PhD in Operations and Management Sciences from the University of Minnesota.  Dr. Chandrasekaran’s research investigates innovation and knowledge creation issues in high-technology R&D settings. Particular attention is given to understanding how organizations manage the productivity dilemma and minimize tensions between competing learning mechanisms such as exploration and exploitation. His work has been published or is forthcoming in the Manufacturing & Service Operations Management (MSOM),  Journal of Operations Management, Production and Operations Management and theInternational Journal of Production Research.

Dr. Chandrasekaran teaches the MBA core Operations Management course for the Working Professionals at the Fisher College of Business. His dissertation was awarded the 2010 Elwood S. Buffa Doctoral Dissertation Award, Juran Fellowship from the Juran Center at the University of Minnesota and was supported by the Carlson School Dissertation Fellowship. He serves on the editorial review boards of the Journal of Operations Management, and Production and Operations Management and is an ad-hoc reviewer for Organization ScienceManagement Science, Journal of Operations Management and Production and Operations Management and Decision Sciences journals.
