Stephen L. MangumSenior Associate Dean;
BiographyAs Senior Associate Dean, Mangum played a critical role in Fisher's academic programs and college initiatives. Fisher's major academic program initiatives during the past five years included the development of an Executive MBA track, a Master of Accounting program, a master's program in Business Logistics Engineering, an undergraduate business minor program, and extension of the Fisher undergraduate business degree and business minor to students at Ohio State's four regional campuses via distance learning technology. He has published in a variety of professional journals, including Labor Law Journal, American Journal of Economics and Sociology and the Industrial and Labor Relations review. His research topics are diverse as military manpower, national training policy, returns to post-school occupational training, regional economic development, physician migration, contingent employment and poverty. He is co-author of The Persistence of Poverty in the United States (Johns Hopkins University Press, 2003), Programs in Aid of the Poor, 8th edition, (Johns Hopkins University Press, 2003), With Heart and Mind: Social Policy Essays in Honor of Sar A. Levitan (W.E. Upjohn, 1996) and A Search for Synthesis in Economic Theory, (M.E. Sharpe 1986). Professor Mangum serves on the editorial board of the International Journal of Manpower.
