Associate Professor of Management & Human Resources
Tashlin Lakhani joins the Department of Management and Human Resources as an assistant professor. Lakhani comes to Fisher from the Cornell University School of Industrial and Labor Relations, where she is earning her PhD in international and comparative labor and human resources. Lakhani also has an MS (industrial and labor relations) from Cornell University, a MIR from Queen's University, and an Honors BBA with high distinction from Wilfrid Laurier University.
Lakhani's research interests include strategic human resource management, international and comparative management, and the service sector.
Her dissertation was titled "Similar, but different? Ownership Form, Human Resource Management and Performance in Franchise Businesses.” Lakhani's work has been published in The British Journal of Industrial Relations and by Union Network International Global Union in Switzerland. She has also received many awards for her research, including a Social Sciences and Humanities Reseach Council of Canada Doctoral Fellowship, a Society for Human Resource Management Dissertation Grant, and the R Samuel McLaughlin Fellowship from Queen's University.
