Robert OakleyShepherd Executive in Residence
BiographyProfessor Oakley's research has focused on the operation and structure of insurance company boards of directors and has appeared in the Journal of Business Strategy, Journal of Business Research and Best's Review. He is also co-author of the book Insurance Information Systems. Oakley is the retired executive vice president and chief financial officer of the Nationwide family of companies based in Columbus, Ohio, where he oversaw all controllership, treasury, tax, reporting and merger and acquisition activities for the Fortune 100 financial services enterprise. Oakley is a chartered life underwriter (CLU) and a chartered property-casualty underwriter (CPCU) and has served as an institutional director of the Financial Management Association.
