John D. Blackburn

Associate Professor of Legal Environment of Business

Biography

Professor Blackburn is co-author of the textbooks Legal Environment of Business; Modern Business Law; and Labor Relations: Law, Practice and Policy. His research has been published in journals such as the American Business Law Journal, University of Cincinnati Law Review, Case Western Reserve Law Review, Houston Law Review, DePaul Business Law Journal and Technical & Skills Training.

He has held visiting faculty positions at the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania, Indiana University and the University of Florida. He has received several teaching awards, including the Outstanding Teacher Award in the management and human resources master's program and the 2004 Undergraduate Program Teaching Award. He also received the Best Article Award from the American Business Law Journal for his article "Restricted Employer Discharge Rights: A Changing Concept of Employment-at-Will."
